Featured among the daguerreotypes is an extremely rare and important portrait taken in Beirut by Theodore Leeuw, who established the first professional studio in the Middle East in the 1840's. Other hard images include a wonderful farm scene, a gold miner, some lovely hand tinted pieces, and identified plates by E. Long, Vance and Shew. A very rare box of unused tintypes with a Griswold label is also offered. Cases include a beautiful mother-of-pearl, a whole plate and a green Eikmeyer case. Mammoth plate ambrotype of family, a watchmaker, blacksmith, fisherman, five tramps or miners. Occupational tintypes include pharmacist, patriotic balloon. CDVs and Cabinets include black & Civil War, Japan hairstyles, Russia, photographer with cameras, 1893 Worchester Fair hawker. Albumen prints of animals by A.
